Google has revealed that 72 hours’ worth of footage is posted on YouTube every minute.
The figure marks a big increase from a year ago, when two days' worth of video was posted every minute.
At the beginning of the year, Google said, viewers around the world were watching four billion videos a day.
“What started as a handful of videos shared among friends has transformed into a global platform delivering the next generation of channels to anyone,” the company said in a blog post marking the service's seventh birthday.
Google boasted the site had 800 million users, who between them spend over three billion hours watching every month.
The company claimed the service had played a role in key events - both personal and political - and that mobile views now totalled 600 million a day.pcpro
