I got my O2 PAC on Tuesday gave to giffgaff on websitethat and as it was before wednesday 4pm, Thursday would be the change day.

About half nine Thursday mornin my O2 line went dead so inserted the GG sim and about 2PM got a message to say number had been changed. Had read to switch the phone off for about five minutes and on switch on  got new MMS & web settings by sms and installed. that was it retained my old number.

well I'm moving to Tesco, gg is not quite right for me in that until they automatically buy the goodybags. They are to be bought just before the last expires, you can queue them to run once the previous expires. You can auto top up for credit as payg, which does not change if youve bought GB unless you make a chargeable call which use your credit. they are two separate ways to pay that work together payg and fixed month purchase (a goody bag).

How about virtual mobile networks? There are many virtual operators in addition to those above. These virtual mobile phone networks actually use the infrastructure of the big five. Here's a list:

Yep the very same.

I have two mobile contracts that expire in September. Having recently discovered that the best network for our area is Orange, I am thinking of cancelling the Orange contract and going with T-Mobile (same Everything Everywhere network) and the Virgin contract and going with Orange or T-Mobile. Hopefully Quidco will have a good cashback deal running so I can get a better deal than retentions can offer.

Yeah that's true. Like I've said before I hate Orange, terrible customer service, but they are the only provider that has a mast anywhere near me. At least I have the option of T-Mobile and Virgin now though. I may check out Family Mobile myself if they use T-Mobile.

o2 are actually the worst for 3G coverage...  I can get 3G on Virgin..but not o2... when you look at ofcom maps it seems for every 2-3 masts other providers have o2 only has 1....in my area anyway

I just gone from o2 to Virgin cos I already had a SIM and needed one asap cos that pr1ck that caused me all that bother before xmas just for not answering my phone started calling & texting back... so i popped in a Virgin sim I aleady had
